Impressive Cathedral
|
Hi everyone!
Well, my favourite sight in Liverpool was the
Liverpool Cathedral, the largest cathedral in Britain. When I stood in front of the
church for the very first time, I could not quite believe that it was really
the biggest, but when I finally entered it I was convinced. The amazing
architecture, the high, stained-glass windows and the modern paintings which
adorned the walls fascinated me. The only thing I regret is that I could not
climb to the top of the Cathedral to have a panoramic overview of the city
because it was too misty on the weekday I went there. What I also found quite
interesting with regard to the Cathedral was the service I took part in on
Sunday, since it was so different from any we have in Germany (there was no
Communion but a military pageant), and I really appreciated the kindness of the
guides who worked there. Finally, the fact that there was a restaurant and a souvenir
shop within the Cathedral was a bit peculiar to me (because I had never seen
anything like that before), but nevertheless, I think that the Cathedral is
definitely one of the highlights of Liverpool
and I would enjoy visiting it again.
